Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in horror after Vozpopuli revealed that those who left the European Super League will have to pay a massive fine.
The Spanish news outlet claimed earlier today that those who withdrew from Florentino Pérez’s Super League must pay €300 million (£261 million).
That’s probably enough to sign both Kylian Mbappé AND Erling Braut Håland.
If this news is true, it could have a seismic impact on those six Premier League clubs who signed up for the elitist project.
Vozpopuli add that this clause in firmly included in the contract.
It is also said that Pérez anticipated such a backlash from the footballing world, hence why he included such a massive fine in the contract.

Sources close to the project told Vozpopuli that the Super League will continue to go ahead, unless the six English clubs stump up the fine.
If this is true, then it’s pretty serious stuff for those involved.
In the midst of a global pandemic, these clubs have already lost huge amounts of money.
Were they to lose another £261 million, then who knows what shape they’ll be left in.

Interestingly, SPORT revealed that Pérez’s Real Madrid are currently in €901 million (£784 million) worth of debt.
Has the Spaniard just pulled off the greatest hoax in footballing history to pay his side’s debts? That remains to be seen.
In the meantime, let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to this worrying news…
