Not for the first time, Stan Kroenke is under huge pressure at Arsenal following their exit from the European Super League on Tuesday night.

Arsenal have officially confirmed that they, along with the five other Premier League clubs, will not be competing with Europe’s elite in a breakaway competition that UEFA, Boris Johnson and even Prince William have publicly condemned.

The Gunners were among the founding members of the project and vitriol against Kroenke from inside the fanbase has been ramped up following their u-turn.

Some Arsenal fans are out for blood, like their equivalents at Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, and quite a lot of supporters of the North London club want to see Aliko Dangote – Africa’s richest man – come on board.

The 64-year-old, who has a net worth of £11.5 billion according to Forbes, is himself an Arsenal fan and has previously declared his desire to buy the Emirates Stadium club.

There are protests planned against Kroenke outside the Emirates on Friday but some supporters on Twitter have been protesting the American businessman – whose net worth is £8 billion – and directly called on Dangote to come aboard instead.
