Robbie Savage backs Liverpool to compete with Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

Former Leicester City and Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage has praised Liverpool summer signing Joel Matip in The Mirror.
Savage has been impressed with the performances of Matip for Liverpool so far this season.
The 25-year-old defender joined the Reds in the summer transfer window on a free after leaving German club Schalke at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The Cameroon international centre-back has established himself as a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Former Wales international midfielder Savage has been impressed with Matip’s performances for Liverpool so far this campaign.

The former Blackburn Rovers man has also predicted Liverpool to compete for the Premier League title this season.
“Joel Matip looks a top signing at centre-back – first impressions count for a lot and mine are that he is tall, strong and comfortable on the ball,” Savage wrote in The Mirror.
“Jurgen Klopp is not just on course to restore Liverpool to Champions League orbit,” added Savage. “I think he is going to mount a serious title challenge at Anfield this season.
“Although Manchester City have made a flawless start under Pep Guardiola, don’t forget they won their first five Premier League games 12 months ago – and they couldn’t sustain it.”

Liverpool have made a strong start to the season, but it is too early to claim that they can challenge for the Premier League title.
City have been the best team in the Premier League so far and are firm favourites to clinch the championship.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have better squads than Liverpool, and they should be considered ahead of the Reds when talking about the title race.
