Robbie Savage thinks Crystal Palace could be relegated from the Premier League with fewer points than the 11 Derby County achieved in 2007/08.
The former midfielder turned pundit was part of that Rams team that recorded the lowest ever points tally since the rebranding of England’s top tier back in 1992.
Yet Savage believes Palace – who were beaten 4-0 by Manchester United in their last league outing and are rock bottom having lost all seven matches so far without scoring a goal – could be even worse than that Derby team.

“They could go down as the worst ever Premier League side if they carry on,” the 42-year-old said on BT.
“It’s their seventh game, they haven’t scored a goal, their record signing is out until January, they are woeful.
“Roy Hodgson, who was woeful with England by the way, is he going to inspire them to keep them up?”

By this point in 2007/08 the Rams actually had four points having drawn their opening game at Portsmouth 2-2 and won what would be their only victory of the campaign when they beat Newcastle United 1-0. They had scored four goals.
So on that showing perhaps Savage could be right. Eagles fans would probably like to think things can only can better for their side, but improvement has not been shown since Roy Hodgson took over as manager from Frank de Boer.
The South Londoners have had tough recent fixtures away at both Manchester clubs, but home defeats to Huddersfield Town, Swansea City and Southampton makes for worrying reading.
