Al-Shabab are reportedly closing in on Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco with the Belgian international set to join the Saudi side this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs are closing in on an agreement for the winger in what would be a surprise signing for the Saudi side.

Al-Shabab tried to sign Willian a few months back and could be about to sign another top-class winger in Carrasco.

The fee will be around £12 million according to Romano and that represents a bargain for the Saudi side who are getting a player of real Champions League pedigree in Carrasco.

The winger scored in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid back in 2016 but has moved to China since then before he made a move back to the Spanish side and it now seems the Belgian’s next destination is indeed the Middle East.

Would he be a success in the Middle East

It is clear the quality that the Belgian possesses and it seems he will arguably be one of the best players in the division once he makes the move to the Saudi side.

The winger has agreed personal terms with the Saudi side a few days ago and is set to sign a three-year contract with the Saudi side.

The winger scored seven times for the Spanish side last season under Diego Simeone and provided three assists.

The winger has consistently performed for a Spanish side that has always been notoriously more of a defensive side.

He would instantly become Al-Shabab’s best player if the move is completed in time and the winger is sure to be on a big salary with the Saudi side.
