How do Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Southampton’s Graziano Pelle compare ahead of their upcoming clash?

Southampton host Tottenham Hotspur this weekend in a fixture that will see star strikers Graziano Pelle and Harry Kane go head-to-head.

Kane has been the Premier League’s most talked-about player this season following his terrific run of goals and subsequent England call-up.

The young striker has been phenomenal for Spurs, netting 20 Premier League goals including two in each of the North Londoners’ home victories over rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

This weekend he comes up against one of the standout newcomers to the Premier League, Pelle, who joined Southampton last summer and has gone on to impress under boss Ronald Koeman.

Pelle does have his own strengths, though, dominating Kane in aerial duel winners, producing more accurate passes than his upcoming opponent and being more careful in possession.

However, in spite of a few flaws in his game, White Hart Lane favourite Kane simply cannot be ignored in and around the opposition penalty area and his goal record is remarkable.

If the Saints are to claim the three points on Saturday and move a step closer to Europa League qualification, then their defence will need to perform at the very top of their game.
