Gary Neville has shared that Jurgen Klopp will be ‘proud’ of his Liverpool players and coaches following their 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Sunday, as he told his own podcast.
The Sky pundit added that the Liverpool boss, who had to self-isolate at home, will feel that he got ‘everything’ from his players at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool did take a 2-0 lead against their title rivals, including Mo Salah outfoxing Marcos Alonso and scoring a brilliant second for his side.
But they weren’t able to hold onto that lead against a Chelsea side that were in the faces of their opponents and used their hostile home crowd to their advantage.
Despite that, Neville thinks it was a positive day for those from Merseyside, as he shared what Klopp would have been thinking sat at home.
“I think it was a good say for Liverpool,” said Neville. “Without Jurgen Klopp, Matip, Firmino, Alisson and Robertson suspended from a couple of weeks ago.
“They were depleted in many ways, so I do think for Liverpool it was a good day. They were never at their best, just like Man City weren’t (against Arsenal).
“They haven’t been able to get the win by not being at their best. But that was a very good Chelsea team they were playing against.
“I don’t think Jurgen Klopp sat at home will be thinking other than he is ‘proud of my players. I got everything from them that I wanted’. And his coaches. I think he will be proud of them all.”

The games are coming thick and fast for Liverpool now because their next stop is against Arsenal in the semi-finals of the League Cup.
It’s a Thursday showdown for the Reds and it seems as though Klopp will be absent once more.
Either way, Salah and Sadio Mane won’t be available because they will now be boarding a plane to Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations
The duo wouldn’t have played in the League Cup anyway because Klopp rings the changes for that tournament, but it’s two Premier League games that they will be absent for.
