Tottenham Hotspur need to find another striker this summer, no matter whether Harry Kane stays or leaves.

Carlos Vinicius looks set to head back to Benfica this summer, and Spurs are now being linked with a new signing.

The Daily Mail report that Spurs fancy signing Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, whilst Fussball Transfers suggest that Tottenham have already made contact about a deal.

Kalajdzic, 23, has been in blistering form of late, smashing nine goals in his last 11 league games as well as three in three World Cup qualifiers for Austria.

He stands at a huge 6ft 7in tall, and would represent a real target man presence for Spurs if they can get a deal done.

Other clubs are keen, and convincing him to join just to be backup to Kane won’t be easy, and Kalajdzic has now commented on his future.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Kalajdzic dodged a question about Newcastle United wanting him before he joined Stuttgart in 2019, and just feels that the media talking about him is confirmation of his great form.

Kalajdzic does like the Premier League, but wouldn’t be drawn on whether that will be his next step, as previous injuries in his career mean he isn’t getting ahead of himself.

“Much of what is said about me in the media is a nice confirmation,” said Kalajdzic. “I am not defending myself against it. It’s great that my achievements are recognized. It’s a compliment to be associated with other clubs – but that’s all, I don’t go crazy about it.”

“I don’t like to speculate too much. All plans can be over with one action, and things can go down the drain again: I had a metatarsal fracture and a cruciate ligament tear in my still young career. That’s why I don’t want to commit myself. It’s nice that the rumors exist and that people talk a lot about me. But in good Austrian terms: If you fly too high, you also quickly fly on the Bappen!” he added, an idiom meaning you can quickly fall if you get carried away.
