Gary Lineker has praised reported Liverpool target Ismaila Sarr on Match of the Day on BBC One (10:44pm, August 14, 2021).
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has been impressed by how Sarr has performed for Watford since he moved to the English club from Rennes in 2019.
Lineker made the comments about the 23-year-old winger following Watford’s win against Aston Villa at the weekend.
The Senegal international scored one of the goals in the Hornets’ 3-2 victory at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
Lineker said on Match of the Day on BBC One (10:44pm, August 14, 2021): “I remember he only emerged in the World Cup in Russia for Senegal.
“He looked like a real prospect. Look at what he has done for Watford since he joined. Top of the tree.”

Liverpool interest
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Sarr in the summer transfer window.
90min reported last month that the former Premier League champions are planning to make a £40 million bid for the 23-year-old.
The youngster himself is aware of interest from the Merseyside club and wants to make the move to Liverpool.

Could a Liverpool transfer happen?
As Lineker notes, Sarr has done brilliantly during his time at Watford and has progressed a lot.
The winger is now ready to take the next step in his career and make a move to a club like Liverpool.
The Senegalese scored five goals and gave four assists in 22 Premier League starts in 2019-20.
Then last season, Sarr scored 13 goals and gave four assists in 39 Championship matches for the Hornets.
Sarr would make Liverpool better and stronger.
It now remains to be seen if the Reds make a move for the former Rennes star, and if Watford would be willing to sell him.
