Newcastle United have firmly denied any approach from Arsenal for Sandro Tonali, dismissing the reports as unfounded.
The club have labelled the claims of a late move as “stupid” and “complete rubbish”, making it clear that Tonali is not for sale.
The speculation first emerged from Sky Sport in Germany, with reports suggesting Arsenal’s interest was linked to a foot injury suffered by Mikel Merino.
But Newcastle have reiterated that Tonali remains a key part of Eddie Howe’s plans and is not being considered for sale at any point during the window.
