If Manchester United supporters are already bursting with anticipation to see Jadon Sancho play for the club. Its easy to see why.
According to Opta stats (via Football Daily), Sancho has registered the third-most assists across Europe’s major leagues since 2018/19.
With 41 to his name, the England international is only two behind Lionel Messi (43) and seven behind Thomas Muller (48).
This places United’s summer signing ahead of Manchester City maestro, Kevin De Bruyne, and Liverpool right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold.
In the same period, Sancho has contributed the joint-most goals and assists of any top-flight Englishman.
He sits level with Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, both on 78.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund winger has a better minute-per-goal/ assist ratio than his compatriot (87 compared to Kane’s 104).

Jad-onto United
United are expecting big things from their £73m (Sky Sports) acquisition, but perhaps this personifies how great a player they’re buying.
Last season alone he provided 20 assists and scored 16 goals in just 38 appearances.
Only Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford contributed more for the Red Devils in 2020/21.

His European Championship campaign was not the ideal audition for the Old Trafford faithful, mainly due to the number of minutes Gareth Southgate offered him.
Yet, this feels like a new beginning for Sancho, a chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
After several superb years in Germany, it is now time for his career to really skyrocket.

But expectations must be managed when huge transfer money is involved.
Romelu Lukaku, Angel Di Maria, even Paul Pogba to an extent, arrived for a huge fee and never truly made their mark in Manchester.
Sancho has the skills to break this mould; he just needs the patience and guidance to go with it.
