Manchester City midfielder James McAtee could reportedly depart the Premier League champions, with Liverpool keeping an eye on the 19-year-old.
According to the Sun, the England U-20 international is mulling over signing a new contract with City. The Manchester giants are eager for McAtee to sign fresh terms with the club, with the likes of Cole Palmer and Liam Delap recently penning their futures to the Cityzens.
With McAtee taking his time over his future, Premier League clubs are beginning to circle the midfielder, with Liverpool and Manchester United said to be keen on the youngster.
City have handed first-team chances to youth players in recent years, with Palmer making a strong claim to make a permanent move from the U-23s to the senior squad.
But for McAtee, a path into the first team is less clear. Despite impressing at Premier League 2 level, the midfielder has hardly featured for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The youngster made his debut in the League Cup, where McAtee played left-back despite his natural position being an attacking midfielder.
