Former Leeds United man Sanchez Watt has sent a message on Twitter which pretty much sums up what a lot of neutral fans are thinking right now.
This is the Whites’ first season back in the Premier League following a 16-year absence from the top flight.
Marcelo Bielsa led them back to the promised land last season but so far the Leeds fans have been unable to return to Elland Road due to the pandemic.
The supporters played their part in inspiring United to promotion last term – and to the brink of it a year earlier – and it’s clear that Bielsa’s troops need the vociferous support that the locals in West Yorkshire are famous for.
Leeds lost 2-1 at home to West Ham United last night, meaning that the 4-3 win over Fulham back in September remains as Leeds’ only home victory so far this season.
And here’s how Watt – who had a couple of loan spells with the club – reacted to the defeat on Twitter last night:
Even the most ardent of Leeds detractor might admit that seeing the Whites play at Elland Road just isn’t the same without their famous support and one thing is for sure – when they’re allowed return to the ground, this side will be far tougher to beat.
