It finished 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as a 10-man Arsenal edged past Swansea City on Saturday.

Here’s a look back at the individual performances, including the substitutes and the referee.

Arsenal

Petr Cech

Could not do much about either goal and made some important stops late on. 6/10

Hector Bellerin

Good performance again from the right-back, marauded forward with menace and kept Wayne Routledge quiet enough. 6/10

Shkodran Mustafi

Made some important interventions and the partnership with Laurent Koscielny is growing, but did not get tight enough on Borja Baston for Swansea’s second. 6/10

Laurent Koscielny

Like Mustafi, should have got tighter on Baston but otherwise another good display. 6/10

Nacho Monreal

Struggled to contain Modou Barrow down the Swansea right. 5/10

Santi Cazorla

Carried and distributed the ball well and kept the Gunners ticking as always. 7/10

Granit Xhaka

Looked composed but at fault for the first goal and was sent off with 20 minutes remaining. 4/10

Theo Walcott

Could, and should, have put the game to bed but his instinctive finishing proved crucial for Arsenal. 7/10

Mesut Ozil

Took his goal incredibly well and was classy again going forward. 7/10

Alex Iwobi

Another good display featuring some sublime touches and tricks. 7/10

Alexis Sanchez

Really growing into the striker role and his movement on and off the ball caused problems all day, as did his teasing cross for Ozil’s goal. 8/10

Subs:

Francis Coquelin

Broke up play and shored up a tired midfield with 20 minutes left. 6/10

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs

Neither were on long enough, however Oxlade-Chamberlain’s late surge was a glimpse of what he’s capable of. n/a

Swansea

Lukasz Fabianski

Distribution was suspect in the first half and should have done more about the cross for Arsenal’s third. 5/10

Kyle Naughton

Came out of his shell when Arsenal went down to 10 but was given a torrid time by Iwobi. 5/10

Jordi Amat

Was at fault for the first goal and was run ragged by Sanchez. 5/10

Federico Fernandez

Didn’t do enough at the corner for the second Arsenal goal, but perhaps coped a little better than Amat. 5/10

Neil Taylor

Failed to contain Walcott and did not help out his centre-halves once the Englishman cut inside. 5/10

Jack Cork

Defended reasonably well but on the whole was overrun by Arsenal’s creative midfielders. 5/10

Leon Britton

Characteristically neat and tidy in possession. 6/10

Modou Barrow

Caused problems all day long and was well worth his assist. 7/10

Leroy Fer

Missed a hatful of chances to draw, or even win, the game for Swansea and was lacklustre in midfield. 4/10

Wayne Routledge

Nowhere near as lively as Barrow but was still pressing right at the end. 6/10

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Took his goal incredibly well and whipped in some delightful deliveries and looked infinitely more involved when moved back into midfield. 7/10

Subs:

Borja Baston

Good positioning for Swansea’s second but offered little else. 6/10

Ki Sung-yeung

Kept the ball moving well when Swansea were pressing for an equaliser. 6/10

Angel Rangel

Not on long enough. n/a

Referee

Jonathan Moss

An orderly display throughout but there are some question marks over the harshness of the Xhaka red card. 6/10
