The Swansea City midfielder is ready to push on after an underwhelming start to his loan spell.
After overseeing a victory against Watford in his first game in charge, Carlos Carvalhal’s second assignment as Swansea City manager didn’t quite go to plan as his side lost 2-1 at home to Tottenham Hotspur last night.
There were still some positives to take from proceedings, however, not least the performance of Renato Sanches, with the midfielder showing some surefire signs that he could return to something approaching his best form under the guidance of his new manager.
When Sanches joined Swansea on loan from Bayern Munich last summer there was a sense of bewilderment as to how the Premier League club had managed to bring in such an exciting prospect.
However, the move certainly hasn’t gone to plan so far as Sanches produced several underwhelming performances during Paul Clement’s tenure and subsequently lost his place in the side.
Sanches has, though, been given the opportunity to make a fresh start under Carvalhal, and he has done just that, with his display last night a case in point.
Now Sanches will be hoping to perform consistently during the second half of the season as he looks to help Swansea, who are bottom of the table, steer clear of relegation.
