Leeds United have allegedly bid for the Spanish forward but there is unlikely to be a quick resolution.
When Leeds United target Samu Saiz posted a photograph on his official Instagram account showing that he was on his way to Miami, Whites fans would have been forgiven for feeling disappointed.
But when it comes to their pursuit of the Huesca player, patience will be vital.
Saiz’s apparent holiday puts an end to claims he could be set to complete his Leeds medical this week.

After all, if a deal was all but agreed he would not be travelling to the United States only to cut short his trip for a detour to Elland Road.
As frustrating as it may be for the Leeds faithful, this one looks like it will run for a while longer, although the good news for Leeds is that unless he is off to sign for club in MLS, they are not going to beaten to the punch just yet.
A recent report from the Yorkshire Evening Post claimed Leeds had won the race for Saiz and a medical was set to take place this week, but the player’s latest trip appears to have ruled that out.
We may only be at the start of the week but if Huesca are aware of the player’s value they will want to hold out for the best possible deal, potentially waiting before accepting Leeds’ offer in the hope of better ones to come.
While the signings of Mateusz Klich and Felix Wiedwald are a start, it is the likes of Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski that would really excite the Leeds faithful and give them the attacking quality to finish in the top two next season.
No news could be good news when it comes to Saiz, but talk of an imminent medical may be wide of the mark…
