The experienced Frenchman will be hoping to prove his doubters wrong with West Ham United.
Samir Nasri spoke to reporters, after joining West Ham on a short-term deal until the end of the season, and shared what really attracted him about joining the east London outfit, as quoted by Football.London.
The Frenchman has not played a competitive game for over year, after receiving a 12 month doping ban, so all eyes will be on him when he takes to the field for the Hammers.
Nasri, 31, has enjoyed two successful spells in England already with Arsenal and Manchester City respectively, and he worked under Manuel Pellegrini during his time at the Etihad.
In 302 Premier League appearances, the attacking midfielder has chalked up 54 goals and 56 assists, and that kind of attacking output could prove to be vital to West Ham between now and the end of the season.
Nasri spoke to reporters yesterday, and explained how the Hammers’ ambition played a big part in him choosing a switch to the London Stadium, as well as their training ground and their 60,000 capacity stadium, as quoted by Football.London:
“You choose a club and a project because of the ambition, and I think that West Ham has everything to be one of the biggest clubs in London, for sure. I mean, 60,000 people every game at home. The training ground is there and you have owners who wants to invest and have a good team. Everything is there to be doing great things.”
Nasri is actually eligible to make his West Ham debut against Brighton and Hove Albion tomorrow night, but whether that game will come too soon for him remains to be seen.
The former France international has until the end of the seasons to prove himself to Pellegrini, and if he manages to do just that, he might earn himself a longer-term deal with the Hammers.
