Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after RB Leipzig’s Sporting Director Markus Krösche discussed Marcel Sabitzer’s future.
Krösche gave an interview to Bild, in which he said contract talks with the Austrian would be put on hold until Spring, amid interest from Jose Mourinho’s side.
Bild – who also confirm Tottenham’s interest in Sabitzer – quote Krösche as saying: ‘We wanted to end the year first, both sides will deal more intensively with the topic in the spring.
‘As I said, he has made a great development. It goes without saying that other clubs also notice this.’
The Wels-born maestro’s current terms with the Bundesliga outfit expire in June 2022 according to Transfermarkt, which leaves RB Leipzig in a precarious position.
If they keep him until Spring, and he refuses to sign a new deal, then the German side’s negotiating stance would be weakened come the summer.

At that point, clubs would be aware that RB Leipzig have a wantaway player with only one year left on his deal.
If it does reach that point, then Tottenham may presumably face serious competition for a player who appears to be in the midst of his peak.
Sabitzer – who cost RB Leipzig £3.5 million – impressively scored 16 goals and assisted 11 more from midfield last term.

So far this season, he has three goals and three assists in all competitions.
A midfield of Tanguy Ndombele, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sabitzer is a simply mouthwatering prospect – it has it all.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Krösche’s comments…
