Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard let Greg Docherty leave Ibrox soon after he took charge.

Steven Gerrard decided to loan out Docherty for the season soon after arriving at Rangers.
The central-midfielder has gone on to impress away from the Ibrox side this season, and that has led to talk of a potential recall to Rangers in January.
However, Ricketts insists that Gerrard has indicated to him that Docherty will be allowed to stay with Shrewsbury for the season.
“I think so, there’s been no mention of him going back at all,” said Ricketts.
“Like I said, I think he’s settled here, playing well, and I think the whole idea of him coming here was to enjoy it and play football, learning and improve.
“There have been a couple of conversations (with Rangers), not myself, and they’re really pleased with how he’s progressing.

“They sent him here to learn and progress and that’s exactly what is happening.
“I think they’ve come out and said it’s better off him to stay here and keep progressing like he has done because he is playing very well.”
Rangers already have plenty of players in central midfield, and Gerrard’s options could be set to increase in January.
Rangers are looking to make additions, with Steven Davis thought to be on the verge of a move to Glasgow.
Docherty, meanwhile, is playing a key role at Shrewsbury, where he has established himself as a key member of the team.
The Rangers loanee has made 22 appearances in League One this term, scoring five times and claiming five assists.
