Sam McQueen interest could suggest Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is set to leave Leeds United

Leeds United are currently due to keep Cameron Borthwick-Jackson until the end of the season.

Leeds United are interested in Southampton defender Sam McQueen according to The Sun, on page 60 of its printed edition, and that may add credence to the rumours that Cameron Borthwick-Jackson could be set to leave.

The Daily Mail suggested yesterday that Reading are attempting to sign Borthwick-Jackson from Manchester United this month.

Borthwick-Jackson is currently due to spend the season on loan at Leeds, but he has made minimal impact so far.

The Red Devils youngster has played just once in the Championship, and Leeds’ desire to sign another left-back simply cannot be good news for the summer signing.

McQueen would surely jump straight ahead of Borthwick-Jackson in the pecking order if he was to move to Leeds, leaving the loanee’s chances of playing even more slim.

Borthwick-Jackson is already third choice left-back at Leeds, with Gaetano Berardi and Vurnon Anita ahead of him in Thomas Christiansen’s first-team plans, and if McQueen does arrive at Elland Road then it will be pointless for the Whites to keep hold of the United youngster.
