Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head for Manchester United’s Sam Johnstone.

The Sun claim that Spurs want to snap up Johnstone from Manchester United this summer.
The stopper has just one year remaining on his contract at United, and he is expected to move on at the end of the season.
However, Johnstone would be far better off sticking with Villa than moving to Spurs.
The 25-year-old stated recently how important getting first-team football was, when considering his next move.
He told the Guardian: “If you choose to leave, you have to choose the right club, the one where you’ll play the most games.”
If Johnstone does opt to move to Spurs, he will surely only be used in a reserve role, though.
Hugo Lloris monopolises the number one shirt at Tottenham, and even though Johnstone is a talent, he would be hard pressed to displace the Frenchman.
Johnstone may play in Spurs’ cup matches, but he is surely better off sticking with Villa, where he is the undisputed first choice.
Johnstone has developed hugely during his two seasons with Villa, when he has played regular first-team football.
And the young stopper would be foolish to give that up, to chase a move to Spurs, regardless of what division Villa are in next season.
