Aston Villa goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has spoken highly of his teammate Mile Jedinak to The Express & Star.

Johnstone, currently on loan at Championship club Villa from Premier League outfit Manchester United, has underlined how 33-year-old Australia international midfielder Jedinak has helped out in defence.

“Mile has done very, very well,” Johnstone told The Express & Star about Jedinak. “He’s a midfielder but falls into centre-back and does a really good job.”

Important player

Jedinak is a very good player who is important to Villa’s chances of winning promotion to the Premier League from the Championship at the end of the season.

The Australia international midfielder has made 16 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Championship for Villa so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.

Jedinak has been on the books of the Villans since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Crystal Palace for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £4 million.

Quality goalkeeper

Johnstone is one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship and has been a great player for Villa this season.

The 25-year-old has kept 20 clean sheets for the Villans so far this campaign, according to The Express & Star.

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in securing the services of Johnstone in the summer transfer window.
