Sam Dalby joined Leeds United on a deal which keeps him at Elland Road until 2020.

Leeds United announced the signing of Sam Dalby on Tuesday. The 18-year-old has joined Leeds on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Leyton Orient and the young striker will go straight into United’s Under-23 side under Carlos Corberan.
Dalby is the Championship club’s sixth winter signing and the third to be heading straight into the youth team, following permanent deals for Aapo Halme and Oliver Sarkic.
And the young man himself – who made his Orient debut at the age of 16 – has claimed on Instagram that he is delighted to have joined “such a great club.”
If Dalby does the business in Leeds’ Under-23 side then the West Yorkshire club certainly have plenty of exciting strikers on their hands.
Mallik Wilks has returned to Thorp Arch after a successful half-season loan at Accrington Stanley, while Sarkic, who initially joined Leeds until January, impressed under Corberan and earned a permanent deal.

But they’re for the future. For now, head coach Thomas Christiansen could really do with a proven Championship goalscorer to enhance their chances of finishing in the top six this season.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe are fine on their day, but their day doesn’t come along all that regularly and perhaps another, more reliable option is the smart move.
United are 10th in the Championship and three points adrift of the playoff places.
