Denton, who can also play midfield, started in his natural left back position, and was given a chance to shine by manager Garry Monk as the Whites boss looked to give a rest to Charlie Taylor.

During and after the game, Denton received a host of tweets from former Leeds team-mates, with Eric Grimes, Dom Poleon, Chris Dawson and Robbie McDaid all sending messages to Denton on Tuesday.
