Sam Burns is hoping Keegan Bradley names him as one of his picks for the Ryder Cup on Wednesday.
Bradley already has six players locked in through automatic qualification, but he still needs to fill the remaining spots.
Among those in consideration are Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Burns, who was a captain’s pick for the Rome edition two years ago.
Burns spoke recently about how he plans to respond if he does not get the call this time around.
Sam Burns still backs Team USA even if he is not picked

Even though Burns is determined to make the US team at the Ryder Cup, he said he will still be behind them if things do not work out.
He explained: “Of course, yeah. 100 percent trust in Keegan. I know whatever decision he makes is going to be one that he thinks is best for the team.
“Ultimately, I’m Team USA. If I’m on the team, awesome. I would love nothing more. If I’m not, I’ll be rooting for them.”
However, the 29-year-old golfer conceded that the next few days leading up to the official announcement will be tough as well.
“It’s going to be a long 24 hours or 48 hours, whatever it is. But it’ll be nice to go home,” he continued.
“I’m definitely looking forward to being home and spending some time with Caroline and Bear and just relaxing and resting. It’s been a long three weeks, and I’m really looking forward to that.”
Sam Burns says the Ryder Cup was his biggest goal in 2025
Burns has not picked up a PGA Tour win since 2023, and he is still waiting for his first major title, but this year’s main aim was clear: get back into the Ryder Cup team.
“Yeah, it’s huge. I think definitely my No. 1 goal coming into this year,” Burns added. “Unfortunately, I didn’t put myself in a position to be an automatic qualifier.
“I think it takes a lot of stress off, certainly this week and last week, to be in that position. But you know what, I tried to focus on coming into the playoffs and trying to play some solid golf, and hopefully it’s enough.”
The decision is out of his hands now, but Burns has done everything he could over the past few weeks to make a strong case for himself.
Burns’ close friendship with Scottie Scheffler is also beneficial, as potential pairings are a factor in the selection process.
