This week Leeds United will take on Brighton and Hove Albion in a potentially massive fixture in the hunt for Premier League football.

Leeds are currently fourth in the Championship whilst Brighton still occupy the final automatic promotion spot. But a small dip in form from the Seagulls has put them back within touching distance of the chasing pack.

Brighton are currently only six points clear of Huddersfield Town in third, with the Terriers also holding a game in hand. Leeds, with a win, could move themselves to within eight points of Chris Hughton’s men.

Leeds’ quality is certainly not being doubted by the Brighton players. Striker Sam Baldock told the Shoreham Herald this week that he is aware of Leeds’ qualities at home, but is hoping for a repeat of last season:

“They’re a very good side, especially at home but we got the win there last year, so we’ll aim to do that again.”

Brighton beat Leeds at Elland Road last season, with goals from Solly March and Bobby Zamora doing the damage despite Liam Cooper’s 22nd minute finish.

Buy that fixture was way back in October of 2015 and Leeds are now a completely different outfit. They will hope to show Brighton just how far they have come on Saturday night.
