Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings made his debut for the Championship club against Reading at the weekend.

Sam Allardyce has stated that Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings may be ‘portraying that he is innocent’ following his alleged stamp on Reading striker Nelson Oliveria over the weekend.
The former Everton boss was responding to Mings’ actions after the event occurred as he consulted the opposition player, whose face was pouring with blood.
BBC Sport reported on Monday that 25-year-old Mings will not face action over his ‘stamp’, which resulted in Oliveria suffering deep facial cuts.
There has been a big reaction to the incident and Allardyce offered his brutally honest views on the matter as he made it clear only the player will know what really happened.
“This is much more difficult [to tell if it was intentional compared to Ibrahimovic incident],” Allardyce told the Alan Brazil show on talkSPORT on 05/02/2019. “Only he knows whether he intended to do it or not. It’s borderline put it that way.
“You can look at it the opposite way. Knowing he is guilty and portraying that he is innocent because he feels he might get sent off. At the end of the day, we can all speculate – only he will know.”

As the BBC Sport report states, no action will be taken on Bournemouth loanee Mings because it was seen by the match officials during the goalless Championship encounter.
Unfortunately for Mings, it is not the first time he has been put under this spotlight following his five-match man when playing for Bournemouth in 2017.
As reported by BBC Sport at the time, Mings was banned by the authorities for his alleged stamp on the head of then-Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Centre-back Mings, who helped Villa to their first clean sheet of 2019 at the weekend, will be preparing for his side’s home clash against Sheffield United on Friday night.
