Everton won’t be returning for Olivier Giroud, according to Sam Allardyce.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has told The Mirror that the Toffees won’t be renewing their interest in signing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in January.
Everton continued their unbeaten start to life under Allardyce on Tuesday afternoon, picking up a 0-0 draw at West Bromwich Albion, just days after also drawing 0-0 with Chelsea.
It’s now three wins and three draws from six games under Allardyce, and whilst fans are pleased with the defensive solidity, a lack of goals is a concern right now.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has performed admirably in the Everton attack, but having failed to replace Romelu Lukaku over the summer, fans are keen to see the Toffees bring in a new striker in January.
One name mentioned is Arsenal attacker Olivier Giroud, given that former boss Ronald Koeman wanted to sign him over the summer, and even told The Mirror that he was in the building and ready to join Everton before changing his mind.
Giroud, 30, has hit over 70 Premier League goals for Arsenal since his 2012 move from Montpellier, but has just one Premier League game this season.

The French international has been limited to substitute appearances, but has still managed to score four times this season, playing something of a supersub role under Arsene Wenger this term.
Some believe that Giroud, a classic target man with strength and aerial ability, fits the mould for Allardyce, but the Everton boss has now told The Mirror that a move won’t be happening in January, claiming that the striker – or his wife – isn’t keen on a move to the north of England.
“I wouldn’t have thought so because he refused to come last time,” said Allardyce. “He doesn’t want to move north of London, I don’t think. Or his wife doesn’t. It is very important to the wives you know. Normally they are the bosses, I say that with experience,” he added.
