Pellegrini watched on as his new side West Ham lost 4-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.

Former West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has told TalkSPORT that the club’s owners will not be patient with Manuel Pellegrini, if the results do not match the club’s ambition.
West Ham suffered a dismal 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, as Sadio Mane scored a brace while Mo Salah And Daniel Sturridge also got their names on the score sheet.
Jurgen Klopp’s side dominated from start to finish, hardly giving the Hammers a sniff as new goalkeeper Alisson kept a clean sheet in his first competitive appearance for the Reds since his record move from AS Roma.
Allardyce, who managed West Ham for four years between 2011 and 2015, warned Pellegrini that his new signings must gel quickly in order to keep the former Manchester City boss in a job.
“You can’t expect too much from all those new players being in the team immediately,” Allardyce said. “But as a manager, the only way you get time is by getting results. Nobody will be patient for you.
“They need to click for the manager, Pellegrini. He’s got a great reputation, hopefully he can do it for West Ham.”

Liverpool took the lead in the first half after a pinpoint low cross from Andy Robertson found Salah, who tapped home. Mane then scored a tap-in of his own thanks to an assist from James Milner.
Mane then latched on to a loose ball to fire home from 12 yards, before substitute Sturridge scored late on as West Ham’s new-look defence of Ryan Fredericks, Fabian Balbuena, Angelo Ogbonna and Arthur Masuaku looked dumbfounded.
West Ham and Pellegrini will be hoping to bounce back from the heavy defeat on Merseyside as they host Bournemouth on Saturday at the London Stadium.
