Speaking on the Keys & Gray Podcast, former England manager Sam Allardyce has been chatting about Liverpool and their style of play.
The Reds may not be top of the Premier League, but they’re still arguably the most entertaining side in the division.
Sam Allardyce may not be famed for playing entertaining football, but even he has recognised how exciting Liverpool are, claiming that they’re much better than Manchester City at playing the ball through the lines quickly, stating that that’s where their entertainment value comes from.
What’s Allardyce said about Liverpool?
The ex-Everton boss spoke about the Reds.
“I think at Liverpool, they play through the lines quickly much better than Manchester City, and that’s where their entertainment value comes from. Listen we’d all love to have the players City or Liverpool have got, but when you haven’t and you try to do it and the ball keeps running under your full-backs shoe, what can you do?” Allardyce said.

Heavy metal football
Playing the ball through the lines quickly is the Jurgen Klopp way, and it’s incredible to watch.
We’ve never seen a team capable of combining counter-attacking and possessional dominance quite like Liverpool, and while Manchester City have been more successful in the Premier League as of late, the more entertaining football is being played at Anfield.
Of course, some would rather see wins than entertaining football, but we don’t think Liverpool can really have too many gripes with their recent incredible successes.
