And with no known approaches made by Premier League clubs in the meantime, the 65-year-old may soon have to consider Championship options.
His name has already been tentatively associated with the vacancy at Stoke, who sit bottom of the table despite possessing one of the league’s biggest budgets.
But when asked if he would indeed be keen on the role, Allardyce told the Talksport show he co-hosted with Alan Brazil on Tuesday: “No.
“I keep coming down here and enjoying myself too much with you!”
As well as Everton, Allardyce has managed Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United, Sunderland and Crystal Palace with relative success.
But a controversial spell as England boss has left a blot on the Dudley native’s copybook.
