Everton are said to be keen to sign West Ham United forward Diafra Sakho and Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

West Ham United’s Sakho is expected to be available for transfer this month, while Celtic have admitted that there will be a time when Dembele has to move on.
Sam Allardyce has already admitted that he wants to improve the Toffees’ forward options, but there should be doubts over whether Sakho or Dembele are good enough to serve a purpose.

While Everton do have a lack of back-up options currently, they have expressed an ambition to be challenging for the top six soon, and Sakho and Dembele are hardly players to strike fear into defences across the league.
Sakho is playing a reserve role at West Ham for a reason, and although he does have the ability to score goals in the Premier League, it would be a major surprise if he ever developed into a player capable of leading the line regularly for Everton.

Dembele, meanwhile, may well have the potential to do that, but his value is already very high and he would be a hugely risky transfer.
Dembele has scored eight goals in 21 appearances for Celtic this season, which suggests that he still has some work to do before becoming a regular scorer at Premier League level.
And with Everton bringing in Cenk Tosun, and already having Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Wayne Rooney at the club, they may be better off waiting until a top class striker becomes available, instead of moving for Dembele or Sakho.
