Sam Allardyce praises Andy Carroll display for West Ham

West Ham United won against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Monday evening.

Former Newcastle United and Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce praised the performance of Andy Carroll for West Ham United against Huddersfield Town during the post-match coverage of the match between the two sides on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports Main Event on Monday evening (September 11, 2017).

Carroll featured in West Ham’s 2-0 victory over Huddersfield at the London Stadium on Monday evening.

The former Newcastle and Liverpool striker started the Premier League game and played for 82 minutes.

After a goalless first half at the London Stadium, Pedro Obiang put the Hammers in the 72nd minute, and Andre Ayew doubled the advantage just five minutes later.

Former West Ham manager Allardyce was following the match for Sky Sports, and he was impressed with the shift put in by the 28-year-old England international striker.

“Oh, I think so,” said Allardyce about Carroll when asked if the striker justified his selection during the post-match coverage of the match on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports Main Event on Monday evening (September 11, 2017).

“I think that right from the very start for me, massive influence on the game, continued to keep the pressure on Huddersfield particularly throughout the first half.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the London Stadium on Monday evening, hosts West Ham had 43% of the possession, took 19 shots of which three were on target, and earned 10 corners, according to BBC Sport.
