Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been linked with Manchester United.
Sam Allardyce has told the Chronicle that there is no danger that Jordan Pickford will leave Sunderland this summer.
Manchester United have reportedly been tracking the young goalkeeper, and were said to be likely to make a bid during the upcoming transfer window.
However, Allardyce insists that Pickford will not be moving to Old Trafford any time soon, as he is determined to keep the 22-year-old at the Stadium of Light.
“I know Pickford won’t be going anywhere, that’s for sure,” Allardyce said.
Pickford made three senior appearances for Sunderland last season, and Allardyce has already proven his faith in the youngster.
The experienced boss recalled the England youth international from a loan spell at Preston North End soon after taking charge, and quickly sold Costel Pantilimon to Watford.
Pantilimon’s departure promoted Pickford to second choice, and the starlet is expected to play an even more prominent role next campaign.
Pickford is currently under contract at Sunderland until 2020, meaning that the North East side are under no pressure to sell.
