Sam Allardyce has shown a reluctance to start most of Everton’s youngsters regularly since taking charge.

Allardyce admits that he addition of Theo Walcott has given him more pace to utilise.
The experienced boss also feels he has speed in Lookman and Calvert-Lewin.
But Allardyce claims that the young pair’s lack of experience means that they are likely to have to play a rotational role.

“When you’ve got the threat of pace and more pace than we had before, it frightens opposition defences and I think that gives us an opportunity to stretch the opposition teams more than we are doing now and get in and around them and behind them and score more goals,” Allardyce said.
“We’ve got Dom and Ademola but they’re at the younger end and it’s hard for those lads to play every week at this level until they gain enough experience.”
Calvert-Lewin has actually played regularly this term for Everton, with their striking options short in the early part of the campaign.

However, the additions of both Cenk Tosun and Walcott this month have knocked him down the pecking order.
Lookman, meanwhile, has found it very difficult to earn a place in Allardyce’s starting line-up.
The former Charlton Athletic man has only made one Premier League start all season, and may have to go out on loan to earn more first-team opportunities over the second half of the season.
