Everton now have a considerable amount of pace in their forward line.

Sam Allardyce, Manager of Everton looks on during the Premier League match between Everton and West Bromwich Albion at Goodison Park on January 20, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

Sam Allardyce has told the Telegraph that Everton still lack pace going forward, but there must be a question mark over whether that is a legitimate problem any more.

When Allardyce first arrived at Everton he was admittedly very limited with choice for fast players to play up-front.

With Yannick Bolasie out injured, Everton had few players in their squad who were capable of getting in behind opposition defences.

But Bolasie is back now, and Everton have added Theo Walcott to their squad.

Yannick Bolasie is subtituted during the Premier League match between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park on January 1, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

Bolasie and Walcott are two of the most rapid forwards in the Premier League, yet Allardyce was still moaning about a lack of pace after his side’s 1-1 draw with West Brom.

He said: “As a team we are light in legs, in pace. That is something I have to cope with until we finish the end of this season and we look at the whole squad and say ‘what do we do to make it better?’”

Theo Walcott of Everton runs with the ball during the Premier League match between Everton and West Bromwich Albion at Goodison Park on January 20, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

How much more pace Allardyce will want before feeling satisfied is now unclear, as Everton’s front line certainly no longer appears sluggish.

Walcott, Bolasie, Oumar Niasse, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Aaron Lennon and Ademola Lookman are all rapid and it may now be time for Allardyce to look to get the best out of what he has, rather than look for what Everton’s squad lacks.
