Everton have reportedly rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s increased offer for midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

Sam Allardyce has claimed that Everton have ‘lost’ midfielder, Idrissa Gueye after they reportedly rejected him the chance to join PSG before Thursday’s deadline.
Sky Sports claim that the Ligue 1 outfit made an increased bid of £26.2 million for the 29-year-old, with Gueye previously handing in a transfer request so he could force through a move.
Nonetheless, it seems that the defensive-minded player will stay at Goodison Park until at least the end of the campaign, with Marco Silva’s side aiming for a top 10 Premier League finish.
Former Toffees boss Allardyce, who was replaced by Silva over the summer, issued some brutally honest thoughts on the Gueye situation and what the player will now do.
“I wouldn’t like to see him tomorrow in training,” Allardyce told Sky Sports News on 31/01/2019. “I think you have lost him, you have lost him for a while. He’s probably professional enough to get over it.
“But this is a move of a lifetime. Probably never be repeated for this lad to go to such a big club. The one thing Everton has been lacking when I was there and still is I feel is a replacement for Lukaku.
“And 30 million euros would go a long way to funding another centre-forward.”

Despite Everton’s inconsistencies, both in the Premier League and in the domestic competitions, Gueye has been a consistent performer for them in the middle of the park.
He joined the club during the summer of 2016 following Aston Villa’s relegation to the second tier of English football – that was his first season in England’s top-flight.
Nonetheless, since then Gueye has been a regular member of Everton’s team, playing 94 games in all competitions, scoring four goals and supplying three assists, according to transfermarkt.
If the former Villa player did move to France then he would have joined a team that is flying high in Ligue 1 and is set to play Manchester United in the knockout stages of the Champions League in February.
