Wolverhampton Wanderers pipped Everton to seventh spot last season.

Sam Allardyce has backed Everton to finish in the top-six this season, but he doesn’t think Wolves will join them because of their European commitments.
Last season, then-newly-promoted Wolves finished seventh in the Premier League table as they beat Marco Silva’s side to a European spot.
This season, there has been a lot of talk about the top-six, and even the top-four, potentially being broken into, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United at a crossroads.
Allardyce has backed Everton to do just that given the problems at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford, as fans will love his comments.
“I think Everton should break into the top six and if they’re going to break in, this is the season to do it,” Allardyce told TalkSport. “You’ve got the difficult situation at Chelsea and I feel at Manchester United as well. I think Man United might find breaking in a bit of a struggle, so will Chelsea, so that gives an opening and an opportunity for a team like Everton.
“I don’t think Wolves will do it because they’re in Europe for the first time in a long, long time and that will take a toll on the squad, as we saw with Burnley last year. It’ll be difficult for them. But certainly Everton, with the spending power they’ve had over the last few years and the players they’ve bought

“There are probably only three or four players who still play on a regular basis from when I was there for a short period. They’ve changed the team that much and have spent heavily in the market again. So I expect Everton to break into the top six.”
Everton’s aren’t the only team who have started off the season in a healthy fashion. Brendan Rodgers Leicester City have started even stronger.
The Foxes are another team that have tipped for a top-six finish, whilst West Ham also spent heavily in the summer and they too have been backed to prove their worth this term.
