Benjamin Sesko is a player in demand, with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United linked with the RB Salzburg striker.
Newcastle, Chelsea and Manchester United want Benjamin Sesko
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Sesko from RB Salzburg in the summer transfer window.
90min reported on July 28 that Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle are keen on the 19-year-old Slovenia international striker, described by his agent, Elvis Basanovic, in AS in October 2021 as “one of the best talents in the world at his age”.
Basanovic added that Sesko is “a very complete striker who can score with his head, with his right foot, with his left foot, from inside the area, from distance, after dribbling or completing a team move”, and that he is “very fast”.
RB Salzburg’s stance
However, it seems that there is a very good chance that Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester United and Wolves all could miss out on the signing of the teenager.

That’s because Romano is reporting on Twitter that RB Salzburg do not want to sell him this summer, but are open to cashing in on him in the summer of 2023.
It will be interesting to see if a big offer changes Salzburg’s stance on Sesko.
Stats
The Slovenia international striker scored five goals and gave three assists in 24 matches in the Austrian Bundesliga last season.
Sesko also scored two goals and gave one assist in eight UEFA Youth League appearances last season.
