Salomon Rondon joined Newcastle United on loan from West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window.
Rondon joined Premier League club Newcastle on a season-long loan deal from Championship side West Brom in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old Venezuela international striker has revealed that he spoke to former Newcastle star Asprilla about the Magpies and what he told him about the fans of the club,
Rondon told The Shields Gazette: “I spoke to Faustino. He told me the fans will be proud of the payers if they work hard.
“We have things in common, I try to score goals. It’s important to the supporters that you work really really hard, try to do well. The first thing is the team.”
Good signing for Newcastle United?
Rondon does not have a prolific record in the Premier League, but then again, playing under Tony Pulis is not easy for any striker to score goals.
The 28-year-old, though, is a very good striker who has shown that he can be a success in the Premier League.
If Newcastle play to his strength, then the former Zenit Saint Petersburg could well find the net 10 to 15 goals in the Premier League next season.
Rafael Benitez’s future
Meanwhile, The Mirror has reported that Tianjin Quanjian are interested in Newcastle boss Benitez.
It has been reported that the Chinese Super League side wants Benitez next summer and are closely monitoring his situation at St. James’ Park.
With the Spaniard in his last year of contract at Newcastle and a new deal yet to be agreed, one can understand why Tianjin Quanjian are (reportedly) interested.
