Salomon Rondon bagged his first Premier League goals for Newcastle United in their win over Bournemouth at St James’ Park.

Salomon Rondon described Newcastle’s win over Bournemouth as the perfect Saturday on Twitter as he finally showed why Rafa Benitez was desperate to bring him to St James’ Park in the summer.
Rondon has endured a difficult time since joining the Magpies on loan from West Brom. His only goal prior to the weekend came in the Carabao Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest back in August.
But he unquestionably looked like the kind of striker that could potentially lead Newcastle well away from the bottom three in the Premier League with his display against Eddie Howe’s men.
He broke the deadlock in the early stages against the Cherries and doubled the Magpies’ lead five minutes before the break with a fantastic header that travelled like a bullet into the back of the net.

Bournemouth got one goal back just before half-time, but it was Newcastle who bagged the three points to go into the international break off the back of two victories against sides who both looked to be in fantastic form before travelling to Tyneside.
Understandably, Rondon was keen to take to social media to celebrate the win. There is a long way to go before Benitez’s side can relax over their position in the table, but the situation undoubtedly looks a lot better for both Newcastle and the summer signing ahead of the festive period.

Here is what Rondon posted on social media…
