Newcastle United have taken Salomon Rondon on loan from West Bromwich Albion.
Salomon Rondon has admitted to the Independent that he wants to be at Newcastle United next season.
Rondon currently leads Newcastle’s scoring charts, and he has had a highly impressive season since moving to St. James’ Park on loan from West Bromwich Albion.
Rafael Benitez has made no secret of his desire to bring Rondon to Newcastle.
However, there are question marks over whether Mike Ashley will sanction a move to bring Rondon to Tyneside on a long-term deal.
Rondon is now pushing 30, and would have little re-sale value if he was to move to Newcastle.
And the Venezuelan admits he is still in the dark over his Newcastle future.
“I can’t answer that question because you never know what happens in football,” Rondon said. “Yes, maybe it is my last game here.
“That would be a shame for my family because they are settled here. But this is football, sometimes it happens, sometimes you have to decide. It is out of my hands and I will have to wait.
“I am really happy here. My family is happy. But it is not down to me. We don’t know what will happen with Rafa as well so we have to wait.”
Rondon now has 10 goals for Newcastle in the Premier League this term, including one against Liverpool in his last outing.
