Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has applauded Arsenal-owned defender William Saliba on Instagram after he made his debut for France.
Saliba, who is on loan at Marseille from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the moment, featured for France in the friendly international against the Ivory Coast on Friday evening
The 21-year-old central defender came on as a substitute for Manchester United central defender Raphael Varane in the 58th minute.
Saliba wrote on Instagram after the match, as translated from French: “I am so proud and grateful to know my first selection in the France team. Thank you to the public for your incredible welcome. 🙏🏽❤️ @equipedefrance.”
PSG and France international forward Mbappe has applauded the youngster.

Give him a chance
In our opinion, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has to give Saliba a chance in the Premier League next season.
Arsenal paid Saint-Etienne £27 million to sign Saliba (Sky Sports).

That is a huge investment, and we must not forget that the defender is only 21.
Yes, Ben White and Gabriel are brilliant defenders, but if Arsenal get into the Champions League, then they will need more cover.
We think that Arteta should include Saliba in his pre-season plans and use him in the Premier League in 2022-23.
Until and unless Saliba plays in the top flight of English football, we will not know if he can cope in the Premier League.
