Arsenal defender William Saliba will not play against Manchester City and could miss the match against Chelsea as well, according to a report.
Arsenal defender William Saliba injury update
The Athletic are reporting this morning that Arsenal will not have France international central defender Saliba available for the Premier League match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The report has claimed that the 22-year-old may not play against Chelsea on May 2 either, adding that the youngster could not even play again this season.
Saliba – described as “fantastic” by Arsenal legend Ian Wright on Premier League Productions (25/02/23 at 2:20 pm) – suffered an injury in the first half of Arsenal’s Europa League Round of 16 second leg tie against Sporting Lisbon in March.
Arsenal will continue to monitor the youngster’s back injury, according to the report.

HITC Verdict: Blow for the Gunners
In our view, the injury to William Saliba is a big blow for Arsenal.
Arsenal are not doing so well defensively without the 22-year-old France international.
The Gunners have conceded twice against Liverpool, two goals against West Ham United and three goals against Southampton.
It would be a massive problem for the Gunners in their quest to win the Premier League title this season if Saliba does not play in the final weeks of the campaign.
