William Saliba has hinted at his desire to sign a new contract, while saying that his agent is in renewal talks with Arsenal after his side’s 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
The French international’s current contract expires in 2024, which has seemingly put plenty of clubs on red-alert about signing him.
Saliba, who helped Arsenal keep another clean sheet against Tottenham has proven once again this season why he is worthy of a brand-new contract.
While the youngster has made a couple of errors this campaign, it would be unfair to look at his campaign as a whole from this lens.
So far, it’s safe to say that the £36,000-a-week defender has been one of the best, and most well-rounded players in his position in the league.
One of the key reasons why Mikel Arteta’s side have the second most clean sheets in the division is due to the former Saint Etienne defender setting sky-high standards at the back.
As a result, it’s only right that Arsenal are keen on rewarding Saliba with a new contract, more so after witnessing his dominant display against Tottenham.
Now, the wonderkid himself has given every Gooner the news they have been waiting to hear.
