The Leeds sporting director (if he remains in the role) has discussed last season’s loan duo.

Leeds United sporting director Nicola Salerno says the club have signed Sol Bamba on a permanent transfer but has been less clear about the future of midfielder Granddi Ngoyi, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Ngoyi looks as though he won’t be staying with the club and reports in TMW recently suggested this was the case.

And now Salerno – who may or may not be staying on with the Yorkshire side, appears to have confirmed that Bamba has been kept on by Leeds.

The 30-year-old shone on loan at Elland Road last season and Salerno said: “Bamba we redeemed yesterday.”

However, with regards to midfielder Ngoyi, Salerno was less clear.

Indeed, the Leeds sporting director appears to have suggested the club have not signed him on a permanent deal due to injury problems.

At the same time, though, Salerno praised the 27-year-old…

He said: “Ngoyi had some physical problem, he has not revealed. However, he is a strong player and has been shown to have great quality, physical and technical.”

And, with regards to his own future, Salerno says he has a contract with the Whites but that there is ‘no certainty’ he will stay at Elland Road.

A decision could be made with regards to his job in the coming days.

The Italian explained: “I have a contract with Leeds, in the coming days we will see how the situation will be. There is no certainty that I will stay at Leeds.”
