Club Brugge winger Andreas Skov Olsen appears to have confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur showed an interest in him with an opportunity in the Premier League appealing to the Denmark international.

Spurs have a history when it comes to signing great Danes.

Christian Eriksen played arguably the best football of his career in North London. And if Andreas Skov Olsen is wondering what life as a Tottenham player is like, he needs only turn to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and enquire.

“Look out for Andreas Skov Olsen from Club Brugge,” Hojbjerg told the Daily Mail before the Qatar World Cup. “He is an old school winger, Ryan Giggs-style.

“(He) goes one-against-one and either crosses or shoots.”

Tottenham could make a move for Andreas Skov Olsen

Tottenham, per Het Nieuwsblad, sent scouts to watch Skov Olsen late last year. Whether he remains on the radar is anyone’s guess, but the jet-heeled one-time Rangers target certainly looks well-suited to life under Ange Postecoglou.

The former Celtic boss likes direct, skilful wingers capable of either scoring or assisting from wide areas. Skov Olsen (nine goals, seven assists last term) certainly ticks those boxes.

“Maybe a little bit, yes,” Skov Olsen smiles, asked by Extra Bladet if there was truth to those Tottenham rumours.

“But nothing close at all.”

Skov Olsen, who has also been likened to Mo Salah, Arjen Robben and Eden Hazard, is reportedly valued at £20 million by a Club Brugge side who fought off competition from Rangers before bringing an end to his disappointing spell at Bologna back in January 2022.

“At some point, I would like to try the Premier League before my career ends one day. Whether it will be now, I don’t know. Time will tell,” Skov Olsen adds.

“I am also open to other choices.

“(Talks over a move to England) have not been so concrete that there have been negotiations. I was injured in January after the World Cup, so that also put everything on hold a bit.”
