Gary Neville has said on his podcast that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City would win the Premier League title by Christmas if they had Liverpool trio Mohamed Salah, Roberro Firmino and Sadio Mane.

The former Manchester United defender made the comments following the Premier League game between Liverpool and City last night.

The match at Anfield ended in a 2-2 draw.

Sky Sports pundit Neville said on his podcast, as transcribed by Rousing The Kop: “I know sometimes we talk about this front three with Liverpool. We talk about Firmino, Mane and Salah – we put them all together because they have been awesome together.

“But he [Salah] is a level above the other two. The other two are fantastic players, I love all three of them.

“I was saying when City had Sterling, Aguero and Sane – I thought Liverpool’s front three were better then.

“I still think they’re better now. If the front three of Liverpool was in the City team this league would be done by Christmas. They just haven’t got the cutting edge up-front that Liverpool have still got.”

What a claim!

It is quite a big claim, but you can see the point.

Yes, City have a superb attacking lineup, but you would probably pick Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah over any of the players at the Citizens.

The goal that the former Chelsea attacker scored against City at Anfield last night was simply world class.

The forward scored 22 goals in the Premier League last season, and has scored six goals and given three assists in seven Premier League appearances so far this campaign.

Salah has scored 103 goals in 165 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Now, Firmino has not been at his best for a while, with Diogo Jota doing better than him.

Mane, though, remains a superb player and would make City a more potent and better team in attack.
