Bukayo Saka has been named as Arsenal Player of the Month once again.
The Gunners named their best player for the month of January and Saka, rather unsurprisingly, topped the poll.
Saka had a brilliant January for Arsenal, scoring against West Brom, Newcastle and Southampton – and later producing a fine assist against the Saints in the same game.
The 19-year-old gem also won this award for the month of December.
Here’s how Saka reacted to the announcement on Twitter:
It’s probably indicative of Arsenal’s struggles that one of their youngest and most inexperienced players keeps winning this award.
Take nothing away from Saka who has been absolutely superb, but it is a problem.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn’t reached double figures in terms of goals yet this season, which seemed unthinkable before the campaign began, and Alexandre Lacazette has only managed 10.
And then there’s Willian who, despite signing a £220,000-a-week deal last summer, has scored none and set up three in over 20 games for the Emirates Stadium club which, for an attacking player, is poor.
Saka’s been brilliant, as mentioned, but other players really do need to buck up their ideas.
