Reports in France are suggesting that Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout is edging closer and closer to a permanent switch to Saint-Etienne.
The French midfielder arrived at Villa from Nantes last summer in a deal said to be worth around £8 million by the Daily Mail last summer, rejecting Leicester City to make the move.
But he struggled to have a major impact at Villa, as the club were relegated to the Championship as the Premier League’s bottom club.
So he headed back to France with Les Verts and the move has been a big success. Now, according to But!, the club are growing increasingly confident that they can conclude a permanent transfer.

Veretout has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 side, playing 37 times and even being linked with a move to Juventus in January.
There is no purchase option in his loan move and it has previously been felt that he would be too expensive for Saint-Etienne to conclude a deal for the player. However, it now seems the club are more confident of reaching an agreement with Aston Villa, with talks set to begin at the end of the season.
